After 21 days of rigorous tasks and adventure, Uche Uwaezeapu grabbed the ‘Horn of Valour’ as he claimed the title of Gulder Ultimate Man VI. Given what he has been through in the last few weeks, he is bound to be sore and exhausted but what better way to revitalize him than to receive his bumper winner’s prize package – N7 million cash, an SUV worth about N10 million, N500,000 wardrobe allowance and other benefits. Uche will now follow in the footsteps of his predecessors and represent the brand as the face of Gulder Lager for the next 12 months.
Over 15, 000 people registered to audition for GUS VI across the country. 8, 304 qualified for the regional selection, however, only 108 were successful. After the regional auditions, 36 contestants were qualified for the screening at the Sea School in Lagos. After that stage, 10 young men and women were chosen to embark on the Gulder Ultimate Search VI adventure.

Bolanle Okhiria is the KOKOLETTE
Weeks after 12 young ladies entered the Koko Mansion with the mission to become the chosen Kokolette, on Sunday 9th August 2009, a winner has emerged and she is Bolanle Okhiria – The bubbly 21 Year Old student of Lagos State University. Throughout her time in the Koko Mansion, Miss Bee was a favorite among housemates and fans.
In case you missed it, according to Bolanle, her story is as follows she was born into privilege, but by the time she turned 12, her family fortunes took a nose dive into recession, forcing her to switch from a life of opulence to one of abject poverty. “I was born with a silver spoon, but when my family fortunes turned, I was forced to learn that life is not a bed of roses”, she recalls with a warm smile, “my dad told me, it was always best to make a very positive impact out of any negative circumstance”.
It seems as though she has done just that by winning Koko Mansion. The finale was a close race between international favourite Rita and Bolanle but in the end Bolanle clinched the win with 11933 votes, Rita was second with 10473, Shona was a distant third with 2292 votes which Chidinma crawled to the finish line with 918 votes.
Bolanle’s win was announced and celebrated at the exciting finale show – Julius Agwu provided the jokes while the D’Banj and the Mo Hits Crew brought the music. Bolanle walks away with a brand new car (fun fact – she cant drive!), 5 million naira, a Chris Aire diamond ring and 15 minutes of fame…Tick, Tock!
All the best to all the Koko Mansion Kokolettes as they step back into the real world. Yours truly hopes they can leverage this exposure to bigger and better things in their lives.
So did Koko Mansion live up to your expectations?

Foluke Daramola premieres Wakati Eda in Lagos | |
. •Four governors’ wives to attend •Mimiko is chief launcher •Ayuba to perform •Stella Damascus and Saidi Balogun to compere Super actress and mother of two Foluke Daramola has notched the stake several steps higher by taking the premier of her highly anticipated movie, Wakati Eda to Sheraton, adding several pecks that other movie premiers in the industry lack. For a start, most movies in Yoruba and even by extension the English genre of the movie industry are not premiered in such highbrow venues. Secondly, the guest list of such premiers doesn’t look beyond the circle of Nollywood. And the build up to the premier are, most of the time, nothing to write home about. We make bold to say, however that Foluke, who is doing her master’s programme at the University of Lagos is setting a standard with this premiere. The premiere, which will take place on August 16, would start with a red carpet by 2 p.m. while the premiere of the movie proper starts by 3.30 p.m. The Ondo State governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko is also expected at the event as the chief launcher. Bonsue Fuji King, Adewale Ayuba will be on stage dishing out his brand of music and the S-360 All Stars from Stingomania will stage a public performance at the event for the first time. To demonstrate that the event is not all about her, the graduate of International and Public Relations from the Obafemi Awolowo University will be dedicating time and gifts to the disabled. The Pain and Pleasure Band, a group of visually impaired but talented singers will also handle the microphone to entertain guests. Foluke already has four wheel chairs to be given out to four disabled. According to her, this is her own way of making some other people’s dream come true. ‘As you are aware, I will be speaking on Fulfilling Desire for 20 minutes. Fulfilling Desire is a pet project aimed at lending a helping hand to the less privileged.

His latest movie is ‘The Limits of Control‘. ‘The Limits of Control‘ is a story about a mysterious loner who is on a mission that he is tight-lipped about. He keeps the details to himself and trusts nobody. As he works to complete the mission, viewers are taken on a journey through his life as he discovers more about himself. The film is directed by Jim Jarmusch, a filmaker he has worked extensively with (‘Night on Earth’, ‘Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai‘, and ‘Coffee and Cigarettes’).
The film has been getting mixed reviews….people either really love it or absolutely hate it. Take a look at the preview and draw your own conclusions.
Thats it.
