WHO IS THE "IBO BOY"? III BLISS?...IKECHUKWU?

Hi folks...how are you guys doing today? Am really enjoying the past few days for reasons I cant really put a finger on...each day I wake up, there is this cloth of excitement that just envelopes me... and one thing I have come to realize is… Things have been generally easy for me...even when it seems I cant seem to get through, I just realize that slow but steadily, I make my way through it...and I realized also…this past few days that no matter how people around me try to frustrate me or get me mad, I just end up smiling, and i realized that the same people who try to get me mad cant stand the fact that I am happy...am prompted to then ask, Are some people just sent by God to test our patience???

Anyway, I spent the major part of my day doing celebrity interviews for a new programme am producing for The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). The programme is kicking of next quarter (October)…Am all excited about it...again, I will tell you more about this as time goes on...Anyway...in the cause of my interviews today, something came up and I though I should share it with you guys; more like seeking your opinion...so please read on and tell me what you think...

WHO IS THE "IBO BOY"?
lll bliss & Ikechukwu is undoubtedly two of Nigeria’s finest rappers. The duo represent Eastern Nigeria and are poised to flaunt their nativity to the peak, but contentious is the issue of this rappers claiming to be above the other on who is the real “Ibo Boy”.
Ikechukwu rocks as a pure Nigerian boy but nonetheless, the subject has become a regular inscription on their wears in videos they have featured in. already
Ill Bliss has a song to his credit on this which exalts him as an “Ibo Boy”.
Does this give him an edge in the battle…

Well, to make this easier, i dug something about the two chaps...may be after reading it, it might guide you to really decipher who of this, actually deserve the much prestigious title...

IKECHUKWU
He is very proud of his name such that he sings it loudly in his debut album. But you wouldn’t blame him when you realise where he is coming from. New hip-hop rave, Ikechukwu Ugonna Onunaku, was born in Mannassas, Virginia, USA, to Nigerian parents. But he was flown back home before his first birthday and raised here for a couple of years in his life.As he grew up, he took to dancing, acting and other entertaining activities. He got in contact with the music of Marvin Gaye and the Jacksons and his taste began to take shape especially around the heavy influx of hip-hop and reggae. Immediately overwhelmed by these music stars, Ikechukwu started working on his first rhyme and became the regular beat boxer.By 1992 and like his siblings before him, it was off to the US for a college education, initially to study Medicine, obviously to satisfy his parents, Ikechukwu got shipped to Ohio where his musical training began. It was at this point that Ikechukwu took his music career further when he stayed in the streets of New York. He collaborated with music squads like Co-ed, PGA (Pimps, Gorillas and Apes) and Dusty. After opening shows for Dela-Soul in 2000 and steadily doing shows in New York, New Jersey and Maryland, Ikechukwu was convinced that he was ready for a solo debut. With a grimy voice that touches the heart and announces his type of hip-hop, Ikechukwu was signed on to Storm Records early this year. He released his solo album; Son of the Soil, featuring blasts such as Naija Boy, My name is Ikechukwu and Legal Representer. When asked why he sings with so much passion, Ikechukwu, who featured in the video of Dare Art Alade’s Fuji, said, “I’m a lyrical rebel with a cause. I sing out of the pains I went through in my growing up years. I’m somebody with a lot of pains.”Though the multi-talented artiste declined explaining further, of his debut album, he said it is something that is sure to feed your soul and keep you on the dance floor. His "wine am well" featuring the KOKO MASTER and DON JAZZY is indeed a master piece.
