Ellen and Portia DeGeneres on their marriage day
Portia de Rossi has officially taken Ellen DeGeneres' last name. On Thursday, a Los Angeles Superior Court commissioner granted De Rossi's request (made last month) to take the last name of her partner.
So now 37-year-old Portia de Rossi is Portia Lee James DeGeneres.
Portia and Ellen married in August 2008 during the five-month window in which gay marriage was legal in California.
Portia DeGeneres is best known for her roles in television series, including 'Ally McBeal', 'Arrested Development' and 'Better Off Ted'.
