LAURA IKEJI:THE NEW NIGERIAN MUSICAL SENSATION

It is no secret that Hip Hop music has grown to be a big part of the African music culture. Now-adays you can’t talk about African music without mentioning Hip Hop music and the artists that keep it alive.

In a hip-hop, male-dominated industry, female MC’s still have a hard time trying to break into the hip-hop industry. I’m talking about how we’ve continuously seen females come and go out of the industry with some just laying the swords down and refusing to fight in this male dominated jungle. Those who do fight come to terms with the harsh reality that at the end of the day, no matter how hard they work, their victory will always be less than that of the male hip-hop artists. Although the struggle is far from over, one artiste who has resolved to shine the light brighter is LAURA IKEJI.

Despite lots of interview bookings and events, this talented, fun-to-be-with and good-hearted Nigerian, who is not novice to the Nigerian music industry has been described as arguably one of nigeria's best up coming vocalists,

21 year old Laura Ikeji is the newest addition
to the Nigerian music industry. She has exemplified brains, beauty,
and the ability to multi-task successfully. Laura is a gifted singer and dancer Currently majoring in psychology, she is an undergrad student at the University of Lagos (UNILAG). She is a celebrity fitness instructor, a dance choreographer, and a singer/entertainer.

Her new single is called ''scoin-scoin,'' and is scheduled to be released anytime from now.
Wouldn't that be something to look forward to?
