MAN POWER??? DAVOD COOK-AMERICAN IDOL WINNER
You know how everyone is saying Girl Power when there are 2 women competing or if a Woman is on top or whatever, well, as if Male population needs more ego-tripping, I’m going to give props to the 2 Male contestantswhop made it to the finals of on American Idol. Way To Go David Cook and David Archuleta!!. Male Power Indeed :).
Well but more importantly, i want to give a special cudos to David Cook.
Stardom sometimes can be a frustrating, i know what am saying, At least having tasted it during my days at the Nigerian Television Authority, i can testify. The 25-year-old 2008 America Idol winner has spent the hours since his "American Idol" crowning, doing press and attempting to slip into cat naps in the car as he rushes from appointments to interviews. From sleep to singing,
"I’ve gotten absolutely zero hours of sleep," Cook said. "I just haven’t been able to shut the brain off. It’s a celebration."
"After winning ‘American Idol,’ David Cook says "the future is whatever I’m willing to make it," "I want to put out a record right now that will make the hair on the back of my neck stand up."
Stardom sometimes can be a frustrating, i know what am saying, At least having tasted it during my days at the Nigerian Television Authority, i can testify.

Dance-loving talk show hostEllen Degeneres may have met her match: Usher. The R&B star and new dad stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to show off his moves and talk about his most "amazing" project to date. "He is my reason for living," the singer tells Ellen of his 6-month old son, In the episode airing Friday, the newlywed also says of his bride: "She's built up ... the foundation of who I am. I want to see more men standing with their women. I want to see more men be open and honest about where they are in life." And speaking of honesty, when asked what surprised him most about having a baby, the star replied with a laugh: "That I had him – that was a big surprise!" That – and "learning more and more about the beauty of fatherhood," he said. "As an African-American, to be there for my child is so important when there are so many young African-American kids without their fathers. I just want him to grow up to be as wise as he can possibly be, kind and open hearted. [Fatherhood] changes everything about me." Of recent Internet rumors that Usher and Tameka had filed for separation, his manager Benny Medina said: "It's 100% not true. Usher and Tameka are currently traveling in Europe together as a family on his promotional tour. This rumor is completely false."

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINALS SPLITS 9ICE, RUGGEDMAN(TWO NIGERIAN INT'L ARTISTES)

A Honda Accord, C-class Mercedes, two award-plaques, and the pride of two jolly good fellows, Abolore Akande (a.k.a 9ice) and Ugochukwu Stevens (a.k.a Ruggedman), was what was staked for this year’s Champions League final between Chelsea FC and Manchester United in Moscow, Russia, this Wednesday (21st May 2008).Pressure gradually mounting on the duo as the D-day arrived with cars worth almost N5 million at stake, and the pride of both musicians, 9ice, a Chelsea fan, bet his Honda Accord car against Ruggedman’s Mercedes, and the “Revelation of The Year” HHWMA Award.
These were the words of Ruggedman before the match date “i pity the ‘nice’ one as he’s about to start “jumping buses and trekking” to shows. “9ice is just starting out in this business, I suggest he puts his mouth where his money is if he wants to take a stand on his dry team,” he said
.Initially, 9ice had staked his Honda against Ruggedman's Morano Jeep, but the rapper flipped. “What? How can he expect me to bet a jeep worth ten times against his Honda?” “Because he’s a friend and an aburo(small boy), I’m going to bet my Mercedes Benz, though that’s also several times more expensive than his Honda.

REALLY, I CANT PRECISELY SAY WHAT HAS BEEN THE OUTCOMEOF THESE DUO AND THEIR BET, BUT WILL RUGGEDMAN SINCERELY COLLECT THE ONLY ACQUISITION 9ICE HAD MADE FROM HIS RECENT FAME AND STARDOM???

TRUST ME TO KEEPYOUPOSTED!

I AM NOT A TAILOR — GENEVIEVE

Following the successful launch of her fashion brand, St. Genevieve, very talented actress and mother of one, Genevieve Nnaji has declared to all and sundry that she is not a tailor. There have been talks that she has turned to tailoring and dumped acting that brought her fame and fortune to irk out a living.

Presently, the ready wear cloths can be purchased at Iconola, the outfit of Lamide, but Genny is planning big time to open a boutique on the island, where her ready-to-wear brand, St Genevieve would be easily purchased. She plans to throw the door open for other boutique to purchase in wholesale and take it to other part of the country.

The need to make the designs that have done her pride accessible to other fashion conscious women made her enter into the partnership with Lamide. It is on record that Genny is one of the most fashionable actresses we have in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Genevieve who just returned from a movie location in Abuja told us she is still busy acting and that is the more reason we’ve not been able to sit her down for a chat. That effectively put the rumour that she is no longer getting movie script to rest. That we can tell. But what we can’t however tell is when the former face of Lux would start designing for men, so that we can have a piece of her creative mind on our body.

Ghanaian wins Miss Caribbean
and Commonwealth Pageant
Shirley Dee wins gold at 19th Miss Caribbean and Commonwealth

Well, it seems that Africans have taken over the Miss Caribbean & Commonwealth Beauty Pageant, winning it back to back. Last year it was Nigeria’s Uchenna Obika and this year 20-year-old Ghanaian law student at the University of Kent, Shirley De Lawrence, stood tall to win the contest.
Shirley Dee is the third Ghanaian to have won the title. She held off her determined compatriots Jacqueline Baker and Michelle Supersad, both from Trinidad & Tobago, to second and third respectively. The twin-island state of the Caribbean has furnished either the winner or runner-up in three of the last four contests - the exception being last year when there was no T&T representative. There were representatives from 14 countries including Guyana, Jamaica and Nevis but our African princess took the crown.
Commentators have quoted the judges as saying afterwards that whereas most of the contestants had excellent individual qualities Shirley Dee brought together what was in their opinion the best blend of “good looks, pleasant personality and knowing how to behave”.
The judging panel was made up of former holders of the title Margaret Alcindor and Theresa de Roche, Isaac Tschando, Anne Rose Mordi, Patsy White, and Shyraine Mubiana. Former title-holders Uchenna Obika and Natalie Latan introduced and interviewed the contestants with accompanying entertainment from singer Angel J and the Manic Boyz dancers, Ecology dancers and Tabot Mix, the United Christian Harmony Group and a hairstyling display by Rougz Hair & Beauty Salon.
Shirley was recommended to the competition by Ben Black Photography .according to her, she would like to take her prize holiday in Ghana. Well, we will welcome her home with arms wide open. Akwaaba!

Menaye Donkor - Royal Stool Bearer and Title Holder
Former Miss Ghana Universe 2004 and member of a royal family.

For some people, Menaye Donkor is the pretty face now associated with Sulley Muntari, the football player in the Barclay Premier League, she was Miss Ghana Universe in 2004. She has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from York University.

She has been a royal stool bearer for her paternal grandmother, who is the Queenmother of Agona Asafo (this privilege was assigned to her as the last granddaughter in the family), started a charity called the Menaye Charity Foundation, and opened a the Menaye International School.

She is surprisingly down to earth and is dedicated to making a difference to all those that she comes into contact with. Sulley Muntari spotted her at a Czech game against Ghana and it was a heart stopping moment for him. He wooed her and is one of the largest contributors to her charities.
