A LOVE REKINDLED - Myne Whitman

A new book is set to hit the market from the pen of Award winning blogger and author of romantic fiction, Myne Whitman. The novel, titled A LOVE REKINDLED is set in the United States and Nigeria, and is a story that entertains, is emotionally engaging, and provides a window into Nigerian culture, places and people. This book was written to showcase local characters in a loving relationship, something that is almost never seen in books. The author also witnessed ethnic violence in Warri and decided to explore this topical issue through fiction. 

 

Love stories cut across race and geography, and the conflict in A Love Rekindled will attract adult mainstream and fiction readers everywhere. Myne Whitman also says she plans to write more of such books and would make this a series, which is always popular. Her first novel, a self-published romantic fiction set in Nigerian and titled A Heart to Mend, was very well received, and has garnered a substantial following on blogger, Facebook and Twitter. It was also subsequently published in 2010, to good reviews, in Nigeria.

Now reports are surfacing that the  singer, who's currently enjoying her billboard hit "Hold It Against Me," has uprooted her things and her two boys and moved into a $20 million mansion in the Hidden Hills community of Los Angeles.

Britney's new crib is huge: it has 10 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, a tennis court, a game room, a swimming pool and tons of gardens. Total square feet? 20,000. Check out her new place.

Halle Berry Wins Latest Round in Custody War

Halle Berry just emerged from court victorious in her custody battle with Gabriel Aubry ... because a judge just gave her the green light to go across country with her toddler to shoot a movie.


Sources tell TMZ ... Gabriel was trying to block Halle from going to NYC to shoot "New Year's Eve" -- the movie from which she withdrew in order to deal with her custody issues over Nahla.

After hearing arguments this morning from both sides -- as Halle looked on -- the judge gave her the green light to travel to New York with her kid.  she won't take back the role that was given to Katherine Heigl, but she'll play another character in the movie.

In a shocking finding, more than half of GOP primary voters believe President Barack Obama was not born in the United States, according to a new poll.
 

Fifty-one percent of 400 Republican primary voters surveyed nationwide by Public Policy Polling said they ascribe to the controversial birther conspiracy theory — despite the fact that the state of Hawaii has posted Obama’s certificate of live birth.

Only 28 percent said they think the president was born in the United States — a constitutional requirement to be president. Twenty-one percent said they were “not sure.”

“Any thought that the birther theory has been put to rest can be thrown out the window,” said Dean Debnam, the president of the Democratic-leanign polling firm. “That view is still widely held in Republican circles.”

"You are distant cousins...but cousins still the same", said the letter, adding the two are 15th cousins, related by a man Sir Thomas Fairfax and his wife, Agnes Gascoigne.
"I'm definitely invited to the wedding now! Between the Packers winning the Super Bowl and this, I'm having a good week", Ellen joked about it.

I can’t knock Mr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ) too hard. He’s our president today by whatever providential turn and, if it must be said to exculpate him, he really, before events forced it upon him, never once thought he could ever be president of Nigeria. Not that he would have thought he wasn’t good enough but just that simply becoming Nigeria’s president was farfetched, say, some five years ago!

Even the governor thing was an accident. He was an innocent teacher plucked from the classroom to be running mate to Alams of infamous memory, only for GEJ himself to be saddled with the governorship power proper when Alams went in and under. Then Obasanjo plucked GEJ, again providentially, to become Umaru Yar’Adua’s running mate for president of Nigeria!

All that could be dizzying, I admit, to a poor village boy.

Gaga, nominated in six categories including Album of The Year, was featured on "60 Minutes" half an hour before the show's start. She told Anderson Cooper that she really thinks about everything she wears and completely understands the sociology of fame.

Here at 'santiagopad we get to experience many things. One of the beat things is the spirit of giving.

Today, i will be going to some orphanages along with some top models and beauty queens to share 'luv'...as i woke up this morning, i thought about 'givin'...and most especially, how pageant queens and models have affected the course of givin...so, i thought i'll do a special post on that today...

So join us as we look at a few model citizens whose heart to give back are just as beautiful as their appearance. 

Philanthropically minded and academically inspired, Rima Fakih has been a strong supporter of community service and numerous charities such as The Pink Fund.

Elaine Irwin Mellencamp has done a lot of work to help fight Parkinson's disease with the Michael J. Fox Fountation.

President Barack Obama is all about change, so much so, that he decided nine months ago to quit smoking. And change has come. One year later the President hasn't had a ciggarette in almost a year, according to first lady Michelle Obama.

Asked Tuesday whether her husband had conquered a nicotine habit he picked up as a teenager, she said: "Yes, he has. It's been almost a year." Mrs. Obama offered no details on exactly when or how he did it.
But is his relationship with nicotine really over?
