Chei! yesterday the 2nd of may, my 27th...no, wait, hmnn, 29th friendly actually got married since this year started. i don dey old o! abi na no see? well, God's time is the best sha, me sef, i know sey one day one day, go reach that alter, after all, she sef no dey in a hurry, so, why me i go hurry, time still dey breketee now, abi? abeg jare ee. Anyway, the past few weeks had been one that has witnessed some of the finest events. so many that i doubt if blogger will let me share of th'em with you peeps but i will bring the ones that stood out and of course happened to be my favourite. UBA-AMAA FRICA ADOPT EVENT :: As part of the African Movie Awards Academy (AMAA) 2009 festivities, a charity ball for the Africa Adopt initiative was held in Lagos. Guests including Genevieve Nnaji, Forest Whitaker, Stephanie Okereke, Uche Jombo, Rukky Sanda, Joke Silva, Olu Jacobs, Basketmouth and others enjoyed an entertaining and glamorous evening all for the purpose of raising funds for the charity. It was dazzling night as the Nollywood stars stepped out in their most glittering frocks for a rocking night out. Photos below.
Staphanie Okereke clinches African Goodwill Awards in Los Angeles:: Multi-talented Nigerian actress/producer/director Stephanie Okereke was recently honoured alongside African-American actress Monique, Musical Legend Chaka Khan at the African Goodwill Awards held by the African Focus organization in Los Angeles USA. She was presented with the award by the First Lady of Imo State, Chioma Priscilla Ohakim. Stephanie who looked gorgeous in a pink and silver evening dress was recognized for her positive representation of African women through her charity work and movie career. @ NIGERIA NEXT SUPERMODEL SCREENING:: Joan Okorodud is one Nigerian who definately has set an axmple worthy to be emulated, not your regular Nigerian woman who will sit on her hass, waiting for one man somewhere to break his back and bing it woman to be comsumed on vanity and irrelevant passion. She has over the years shown even young people that the word impossibility only exists when you say it does. A first runner-up Miss Nigeria in 1981, Today,Mama J as she is fonly called has not allowed the dream of helping young models elude her. sitting atop a flourishing model agency,ISIS Models management South Africa,creating a platform for many who wants to establish themselves in the modelling world.Most Nigerian models including Bunmi Ademokoya and Brian Okwara,the winner of the Model of the world contest and Mr.Nigeria respectively are some of the people that has benefitted from the agency.They have been exposed to world leading fashion shows such as New York fashion week,Jo'burg Fashion Week etc and through TV commercials leading brands. Yesterday(30 April 2008),was the screening of Joan's Nigeria Next Supermodel.Bevy of ladies numbering well over one hundred stormed the Air Force Officers' Mess in Victoria Island,Lagos to be a part of it.The panel of judges was formed by model grooming guru,Bayo Adegbe popularly known as Modella,Frank Osodi of House of Bruno Crazioni,Bayo Haastrup of Ijade Egbin and others.The atmosphere was such that it was a keenly contested platform and almost all those who made it would think it was the actual event.This is not to say that those with pot bellies and tuber legs like Enugu yams did not appear at the screening.
