The international show called Africa’s World Best (AWB) reality TV talent show is the first ever to bring together 60 Africans from all parts of the world into one house competing for one title with the biggest prize in the history of African TV to be won.
The winner will in fact take home a cash prize of USD $100,000 and a brand new car.
AWB will go live in April. The show will involve talents such as singing, acting, performing arts, Comedy, poetry, script writing, dressmaking, jewellery making, sculpturing, dancing and other unique talents. All Africans with any special talent are strongly encouraged to apply.
AWB reality TV Talent Show is a show by Africans for Africans. It is a way of empowering Africans, appreciating African talent and believing in the African youth and children.
The show will be hosted by the first ever Big Brother Africa winner, the popular presenter, Cherise Makubale from Zambia, and East Africa’s TV personality, Gaetano Kagwa, from Uganda with international celebrity guest appearances on the live TV shows.
Kenya’s rising hip-hop star, Kizzy, is set to present the extra show on AWB called ‘The Spin’. This show will bring the audience exclusive behind the scenes news, gossip and interviews with contestants, judges and other celebrities in the reality TV show.
Africa’s World Best AWB reality TV show was launched at a cocktail reception on 6th February at the Kenya High Commission, London, attended by Miss East Africa UK/Miss Kenya UK, Vicky Ngari, and Miss West Africa, Amina Kamara, and various African press and celebrities.
“There is a need to recognize African talent worldwide, develop new talent and reward the existing talent,” said AWB founder Pauline Long. “This show is promising pure entertainment at the highest level and at the same time giving back to Africa by establishing sustainable youth projects through our non-profit entrepreneurial foundation called ‘AWB Together’. It’s a very interesting concept with 60 African contestants, 60 days and one deserving winner,” she added.
Pauline revealed that applications are streaming in so fast but the team are coping well and handling each application with much care and consideration.
AWB host Big Brother Africa winner, Cherise Makubale, looked glamorous as usual as she revealed that AWB show is one she’s looking forward to. “The Big Brother Africaa house was interesting and fun but I think AWB reality TV show has more to offer,” she affirmed.
What separates Africa’s World Best (AWB) from other reality TV talent shows is their mission. They have created a non- profit wing called AWB Together and through it the reality TV talent show will give back 40% to Africa yearly to assist young Africans to set up businesses, sustainable projects and create more jobs resulting in income growth in Africa. AWB Together will begin this process with Kenyan youth and gradually spread to the rest of Africa. The main reason for this large input is to empower the people of Africa with all the essential tools for a successful economic growth of Africa and give back to the communities what belongs to them.
AWB reality founders Pauline Long and Sherman Thomas have both promised to deliver first class entertainment through the show with an aim of getting the world to embrace African talent.
Having been officially launched in the UK in early February, AWB will also launch officially in four African countries namely: Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and Libya.
Auditions will go on throughout Africa in March and April with the main TV show going live on air on Friday 24th April with live performances from international artists. It will be a great show. One house, 60 African contestants, 60 days and one deserving winner.
In the house the contestants will be on camera 24 hours a day as they bond and perfect on their various talents. The TV show will have weekly eliminations through live performances and public voting.
