Earlier today reports hit the internet that Rihanna had to cancel a few of her U.S. Tour dates, which was scheduled to begin in June, due to poor ticket sales.
Rihanna is “tentatively” scheduled to perform in Boston on July 24 with Cee-Lo, however only 3,700 tickets have been sold, and 15,000 must be sold in order for the promoter to break even.
And according to sources the promoter is expected to lose almost a half million dollars on the Boston date alone ouch.
“It has been a big disappointment. The ticket sales in big US cities like Boston are so bad, they will barely cover basics like the lighting and other arena costs. Tour managers are begging local radio stations to do giveaways.”
Shortly after this story hit the blogs Ciara took to her Twitter page and tweeted:
If you recall, Ciara and Rihanna was throwing shade at each other via twitter not too long ago, when Rihanna tweeted about Ciara not being able to book a stage.
Grabbing my popcorn let’s see if Rihanna takes the bait & respond!!!!
