NIGERIAN IDOLS ANNOUNCES CO-HOST

press release
The gentleman that will be by Misi’s side, joining her to take us through Nigerian Idol, from Auditions through Live Shows, eviction, gigs et cetera, has been announced!

Adaora Mbelu Communications Manager of Optima Media Group, licensees of the Idols franchise in Nigeria told reporters early this week that “when the show begins to air in November, our fans should expect to see two hosts”.

“Aside Misi who was announced as host at the press conference in September, we have selected Anis Holloway, a promising singer who grew from nothing to something, participating in talent shows and working hard to get his voice heard. The reason being that he knows the feelings of these singers, and we want them to see him and see prospects”
The producers say Holloway will be in charge of the field and narrating job, while Misi will handle the theatre aspect of the show.

An unrepentant music enthusiast, Sierra Leone born Anis Holloway made his first appearance as a wannabe singer on Project Fame last year before moving on to Nigezie as a presenter.
“I see this as a great opportunity for me, I saw the contestants at Enugu and it reminded me of how I was a few years ago. I’m grateful to Idols for this opportunity, and I am very positive I won’t take it for granted” Holloway said before leaving for Abuja this week.

Most Nigerian teenagers and youngsters are familiar with the Idols format. The story of Reuben Studdard, Fantasia, Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks, Kelly Clarkson and Timi Dakolo- talents who emerged from being nobody to becoming superstars has shown that with talent and the Idols stage, there’s nothing that cannot be achieved.

The project to discover Nigeria’s next music superstar will run from November 2010 to March 2011
Idols has been produced in different continents of the world like Poland, America, Greece and Turkey and now, Nigeria gets a chance to create an original super star we will export to the world
Culled out of “Pop Idol”, the show has become one of the biggest international franchises. The Nigerian Idol is sponsored by telecoms company Etisalat
