LUCKY DUBE ONE YEAR AFTER
this time last year, a sad cloud fell upon all friends, family and fans of the Reggae Legend himself, Lucky Dube. A victim of crime in his own country, Lucky Dube was gunned down leaving us bereft in an unimaginable way. A year later, his legacy still leaves on and his name is still embraced by all those who knew and loved him.

Lucky Dube

Great words still come out of peoples’ mouths when asked about Mr Dube, describing him as an “extraordinary artist who broke many barriers in his pursuit to celebrate his love for music with the world. Still one of the highest selling artists from Africa, with fans from all corners of the globe, he had numerous number one hits and countless sold out tours. He also had an unforgettable persona and electrifying presence on stage.

Lucky Dube’s legacy will forever live on. And as his number one selling single states, “Wherever You Are, Remember Me”. Wish be granted. Rest in peace.

JAMMING RAGGAE & MORE DRAMA ON PROJECT FAME
The drama continued with judges and faculty disagreeing on the choice of students put oncarol.jpg probation this week on Project Fame West Africa. After Saturday’s highly emotional double evictions o f Ijeoma and Wilmot, the students were tasked to perform some reggae hits.

Benedicta, Onyemeachi, Praise, Dorcas, Inyanya, Caroline, Nii, Sopriye, Annette,
Bisola, and Kojo, sang: ‘Red, Red Wine’, ‘Wild World’, ‘No Woman No Cry’, ‘Waiting In Vain’, ‘Jah Love’, ‘Reggae Nights’, ‘Me Love’, ‘Now That We’ve Found Love’, ‘Dedicated To The One I Love’,‘Redemption Song’, and ‘Different Colors’ accordingly.

Dorcas

Unfortunately the sad reality set in at the end of the night when Nii, Dorcas, Sopriye and Caroline were put on probation. The inclusion of Nii and Dorcas in the list didn’t settle well with the faculty.

Sopriye

So what happens next? I really hope that Dorcas and Nii would be saved by the public and judged on Saturday and based on Sunday’s performance show, Sopriye should be the one to leave since he had the weakest performance. I think that the public votenii.jpg may go to Sopriye orCaroline since Nigerians carry the most votes without a doubt.

I just wish that points were allocated for votes from across the four participating countries rather than leaving it to majority number of votes. That’s just food for thought. By the way I have realised that the organisers of the show have replaced those ridiculous plastic seats. I guess someone is listening! LOL!

JAIL TIME FOR SERBIAN ATTCKER'S OF GHANA FOOTBALLER
Finally some much-needed justice has been meted out to some ignorant fans who chanted derogatory racial messages in the stands and then proceeded to attack a football player.
A Solomon OpokuSerbian court has sentenced four football fans to a total of four and a half years imprisonment for a racially-motivated attack on a Ghanaian player, Solomon Opoku.
Serbian football has a storied history of racist incidents. In 2006, police arrested more than 30 Borac fans accused of verbally abusing another African player, Zimbabwean striker, Mike Temwanjira. No one was sentenced in connection with that incident and Temwanjira left Borac shortly afterwards. In 2007, UEFA fined the Serbian Football Association $ 41,000 for racial insults by fans aimed at black players during the under-21 European championship match with England in the Netherlands.

Right, thats it for today, see you guys tomrrow.
Cheers!
