New Movie: Adults Only, Creativity At Its Weakest Point…

Before now, i had permanently put a stop to watching Africa films, especially the ones that comes forth from 'Nollywood'. It was just in recent times that i changed my mind after watching a couple of films from 'Gollywood'. The Production was no doubt far more advanced compared to the ones from Nollywood.

So, don't blame me when i say i love Ghana films...the acting, the camera angles, the soundtracks, the costuming, the locations and all of the very salient elements that makes a complete movie that Nollywood always forgets to consider.

From Forbidden fruit to Who loves me, Crime to Christ, 4CanPlay, Men in Love...and so on...as much as i love them, i guess it's beginning to bother even me...
New Ghanaian Movie: Adults Only
New Ghanaian Movie: Adults Only

This days it bothers my intellect if certain movie producers can ever sell a copy of their movies without SEX scenes in Ghana.
A movie titled “Adults Only” will be hitting the screens soon and to my astonishment, it has veteran actors in there. People I respect so much in the movie industry that I dare even throw a dust of words at them. Hmmm!

I guess it is the order of the day so they are all doing it to cash in some money. It is called “Adults Only” yet the trailer is on YouTube where my 15 year old nephew lives day in and day out.

Who is going to make sure the movie which seems to be centred purely on countless and pointless sex scenes would be watched by Adults Only in Ghana? or even outisde of its shores like Nigeria????.
Soon it will find its way unto the various numerous Ghanaian movie websites and then every little child can watch it…
PG or no PG, Do we need these story-lines in, what has happened to our creative prowess? This is creativity at its weakest point. Hot Fork sold out so here comes another one…. Can’t move away from all these sex story-lines and tell our stories in a colourful manner? Does it always have to be about SEX?

So, what do you guys think? am i beating this out of proportion???

D'banj phones "Koko Mobile" are soon to be out, release date is October, See Pics And Features

We’ve heard chatter about superstar Nigerian entertainer D’Banj‘s “Koko” projects for a long time. According to various sources, there is a whole range of Koko products in the pipeline including Koko Water (A prototype for this featured in one of D’Banj’s videos), Koko Garri and Koko Mobile.

D’Banj’s bar Koko Lounge has been operation for about a year and is doing well while the Koko Foundation is working on non-profit projects and charitable initiatives.

Well, Koko Mobile is no longer a hear ‘say!
It has been confirmed that D’Banj will be releasing the Koko Mobile in October 2010. The first batch of the phones will be available in 3 colours namely Black, Silver and Pink.
The phone is targeted at the youth demographic and is going to be very well priced to ensure that it is affordable.
The Koko Mobile telecommunication device comes pre-loaded with D’Banj’s songs and video.
Other functions and programs include Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, GTalk, Google Search, Twitter App, Facebook App, GPS, First Bank Online Banking App and there are plans for a special Koko Chat platform.

Great to see D’Banj leveraging his brand and ensuring that his legacy extends beyond music and into other business enterprises. This is a positive example for other celebrities in Africa. In the United States, many ex-superstars (Musicians, Athletes, Actors etc..) are languishing in poverty and debt while those who invested wisely and created business enterprises such as Magic Johnson are living well. Even current stars such as Jay-Z, Beyonce and Diddy exemplify the positive mix of talent, fame and business savvy.

We also encourage D’Banj and other stars who develop business enterprises to keep a firm eye on the operations and grow at their own pace!
