FUEL TANKER EXPLOSION-TWO FEET AWAY FROM MY CAR
(MY MIRACLE STORY)

THIS IS A FIRST WITNESS ACCOUNT STORY!

I’ve learnt one thing in life, which is to let my instinct guide me, over time I have found out it has always worked for me.

I got a call from my good friend, Otery that we hang out, since I had finished with my appointments earlier than scheduled, I felt it was a good option. We were headed for surulere but decided to go through new garage, Bariga to beat the massive traffic from Ilaje (bariga) to yaba through Ojuelgba.

Just in front of Mr. Biggs at Gbagada, we encountered a ditch and thought we should reverse, meanwhile, directly opposite us, at the other lane, a speeding fuel tanker fully loaded, the driver did not probably noticed the big hole right in the middle of the road; he went right into the hole, with the tanker tumbling over, falling on its side, immediately, like on impulse, I told my friend to reverse and it was just at the point of reversing that this bog explosion occurred, two feet or less from where we were caught in the ditch few seconds back. The tanker opened, releasing the entire content onto the street, it caught fire immediately,

I asked my self in that split second, what of if we didn’t reverse, we would have been caught up in that inferno, surely and then what will be the story???

Immediately, I called my first female friend and precious boo, CHICHI (JUKE BOX, MBI-yeah this is probably not the right time or right place to reveal the identity of the woman in my life. but hey…its my blog...so…ok, now that was just to cal my nerves in this write up, as am yet to get over the whole shock) requesting for a media coverage of the explosive pandemonium.

The Nigerian fire fighters, arrived after 40 minutes of continues chaos and pandemonium, believe you me, after 15 minutes of trying what they would promptly say is their ‘best’, they run out of water and had to wait for another 20 minutes for the tanker to explode more and burn more, the second tanker came after but still they could not put out the fire,

yeah am sure you would probably be wondering, what about the driver…God bless his soul, he was very smart enough, immediately the tanker was turning over, he automatically detached the head of the tanker car and speed off before the other half containing the fuel exploded.

Well, you know Lagos, or should I say Nigeria, nothing goes about/on without political advantage, the Gov’nor of the state arrived on the scene about 5:40pm, well I was on my way out of the scene when he arrived so I cant say what he said but then, indeed for the first time, I came to well understand the true meaning of “HIGHLY INFLAMMABLE”

MORE PICTURES FROM THIS EXPLOSION WILL COME AFTER SHORTLY

9ICE MARRIES LONG TIME GIRL FRIEND-TONY PAYNE IN LAGOS

Yeah, there is no doubt that he is what Nigeria knows as 'news', ok...it doesn't matter what you think or the 'beef' that some quarters hold against him but Rave of the moment musician and songwriter, Abolore Akande popularly known as 9ice and international make up artist,Toni Oluwaseun Payne (Toni Payne) were legally married in Lagos this morning.
The ceremony took place at the Surulere Registry, Lagos and it was expectantly without the kind of funfair that could have been accorded them because of their celebrity status.Few family members and friends were in attendace. The musician's manager, Oladehinde Fajana and his publicist,Mr.Ayeni Adekunle were some of the few people in attendance.
9ice, the Gongo Aso emperor and friends arrived the Surulere registry in his two cars
(A VW Touareg and Honda) . He was looking gracious & handsome in his black suit and inner waist coat.Toni Payne, the bride of the day sure could not be caught unaware, neither did she disappoint at all. She was also looking elegant and of course very well put together in her white wedding gown.(after all, she is in the business of making people beautiful for such occasions so we did not expect less from her)
The registrar, Mrs.Tola Awoliyi joined the two love birds as husband and wife at exactly 9.30 a.m today 17 July 2008.
An authoritative source close to the couple hinted that Toni Payne arrived from her United States of America base on Monday. She had been away to put one or two things together concerning her clothing and cosmetics line.
The traditional engagement follows the registry and it also took place in Surulere.
Those in the know believe that 9ice couldn't have shut the door of his heart to the lady who turned his life around. The babe was like a pillar to his music career because she contributed a lot to the present level of the 'packaging' 9ice has at present.

LITTLE MR. INDEPENDENCE NIGERIA 2008
THIS IS A PRE RUN TO THE SECOND EDITION OF LITTLE MR. INDEPENDENCE NIGERIA 2008

The “Little Mr. Independence Nigeria 2006” took place at the Presidential Hotel, Enugu, Nigeria on 1st October 2006. Performing in front of the Minister of Arts & Culture as well as many other dignitaries, the 30+ contestants took part in a showcase gala event, which began with the National Anthem, celebrating the 46 years of Independence in Nigeria.
With over 30 contestants taking part from all over the country, the event ran without any problems, the contestants took to center stage under the watchful eye of very meticulous judges showcasing beauty of the various cultural costumes depicting each contestant's heritage, mesmerizing the audience.
Choosing NONSO ILO, the WINNER of the event did not of course come with just a pull of hair from the nostril, it indeed was a competition that had "baring it all to impress", little as these kids were, the competition was fierce, as each child knew what was at stake...Yes, this was two years back...Nonso has held onto the title for full 730 days.

Personally, i have been intimated by the organizers of the show that the second edition of the event is in the pipeline and is to be held this year on October 1st in Lagos.

A special send-off party is being put together for Nonso Ilo on September 28th at Protea Hotels in Enugu, a pre-event activity leading to the handing over of the crown to a new winner come October 1st 2008

According to organizers of this year's event, it promises to be exciting as sponsors have already shown interest to be a part of the event, to still give all a chance to be a part of this epoch making show, the organizers say there is still room for companies who are willing to be a part of the show.

The event is slated for 1st of October in the 'city of excellence'-Lagos at the prestigious Golden Gates Restaurant, Kingsway Road, Ikoyi.

Just keep your eyes on here for further details about the event .
