BIG BROTHER AFRICA-THE START OF THE REVOLUTION!

KEVIN, A Nigerian from Jos was yesterday announced as the flag bearer of Nigeria in the ongoing BIG BROTEHR AFRICA TV Reality Show.

27- year- old entertainer, Kevin has a BA in English Language and has 7 siblings. He’s proud to be Nigerian because Nigerians stand out and survive any situation – “which is why you’ll find a Nigerian almost anywhere. ” A Manchester United fan whose hobbies include rapping, Kevin would like travel to Hollywood to see a movie in the making there. If he wins Big Brother Revolution, Kevin will spend his money on creating an entertainment empire and will share some of it with friends and family who have stood by him.

The launch show kicked off with a banging performance from Somali star K’Naan singing his song “Waving Flag”. The crowd was moved as ushers walked onto the stage displaying the flags of all African countries represented in the house. The mood was filled with tension and excitement as the anticipated arrival of the Housemates drew closer.

IK , the host kept the crowd alive as he started introducing the housemates and many screams were heard as crowd members wished their country-mates luck ahead of the race to win the $200 000 prize! Jeremy, the buff 22-year-old developer from Kenya, got mad love from the ladies as he lifted his shirt to show off his six-pack. Quinn, the South African student, received applause as he exhibited his multi-lingual skills by speaking in isiZulu.

The crowd started quietening down as male Housemate after male Housemate walked onto the stage.

Who could blame them as there seemed to be no women in sight? The surprises were not over yet as IK revealed the last Housemate, Eddie from Namibia, and of course, his identical twin, Erastus. This announcement, a first in the history of Big Brother Africa, will see two identical Housemates playing the game by constantly switching roles for the first four weeks. The twins will have to tread very carefully as their survival in house rests on the other Housemates not uncovering their secret.

When all was said and done and the Housemates had settled in the house and getting to know the Starmates, IK announced yet another surprise. Although the male Housemates have no idea of this, 12 women will be joining them next Sunday. Current Housemates and fans alike will have to wait until next Sunday to see who the women Housemates are.
Like i said...keep up with me here for all the juicy stories, news, and of course all the GOSSIPS!

SNEAK PEAK INTO THE BIG BROTHER AFRICA HOUSE

Mnet has revealed a new Big Brother Africa House that stands out with fresh contemporary style, clean sophisticated finishes, Afro-chic interiors, and a revolutionary spirit. The Revolution is coming....

Today, Sunday September 6th when the much anticipated BIG BROTHER AFRICA: THE REVOLUTION hits DStv screens continent-wide, there will be a hidden star at the centre of the show, a newly designed and state-of-the-art Big Brother Africa house. Now complete and ready for big reveal the house is a marked departure from previous seasons, from its technology to its multi-textured, multi-faceted décor.

Polished stainless steel elements sit alongside warm wood tones and rugged stone, whilst canvas drawn paintings share space comfortably with unique graffiti artwork. Bold colors against a backdrop of neutrals provide key focal points throughout the house while wide open spaces allow for a feeling of space and tranquility. Add one gleaming kitchen which could be termed a chef’s dream, with all the modern conveniences, plus an open plan lounge accentuated in leather and luxurious throws, and the house fuses classic design ethics with a fun, easygoing twist.

Other rooms include an elegant bathroom, dormitory styled bedroom, polished dark wood dining area, and the always powerful diary room, this time with dramatic difference. Put together, and the Big Brother house is ready for action. Meanwhile outside, a decked patio offers cool comfort while the lush garden is offset by the sparkling plunge pool, the one element unchanged in tribute to last season.

With 100 microphones at work and 40 cameras, including manned, remote and miniature ‘lipstick’ cameras, the BIG BROTHER AFRICA house is a technological accomplishment which includes over 14 000 metres of cabling. To renovate and rebuild the existing structure into the new house took 70 000 bricks, 6 tonnes of cement and 4 tonnes of structural and reinforcing steel.

NIGERIA VS. TUNISIA: THE VICTORY THAT VANISHED

It was a match the whole nation looked forward to…a victory that was not negotiable
From all walks of life the young, the old and even the female folks trooped to various viewing centres to witness this battle of the titans…even non fanatical football fans like myself couldn’t afford to miss out on the great moments…not minding forgoing seeing my all time favourite Big Brother Africa Welcome/Reception for the Housemates; although I might have done this out of patriotism for the fatherland …

Bottom-line: Nigeria has again slimmed all its chances of qualifying for the world cup which is for the first time in the history of the competition coming to the continent in South Africa come 2010; playing a 2-2 final scores with Tunisia was nothing short of suicide

No doubt 1994 represent the pinnacle of Nigeria’s football. Not only because of the nations cup win but also it was the first time the nation qualified for the FIFA World Cup. At the global football fiesta, the Nigerian team thrilled audience with their quality of play and emerged as the second most entertaining team. Unfortunately, it has been downhill ever since.

Participation at the world cup has seen similar retrogression since that period. Despite making the second round at France’ 98, the eagles were ousted in the most disgraceful manner. At the 2002 competition, in Germany, it was a first round exit as Angola-regarded by many as minnows-orchestrated Nigeria’s ousters.

Today no doubt was the defining match…an opportunity for the team to write their names in gold…well, heroes are sought and welcomed because it is a redemption day…(this was actually my thoughts before the eventful exit of Nigeria to be part of all the fun, the excitement and the global phenomenon that has come to stay with the competition)

Well…who knows, maybe come 2014, we would have been able to get it right…and who knows…maybe cap it all by being the first Africa nation to win the world cup that’s if that feat hasn’t been achieved by nations like Ghana or even Togo in 2020.
