VEEDA???
She can sing, dance, sexy as hell…what else can Veeda grace us with?
The emergence of fresh African-American splendor is possibly how one would describe her: Otherwise, She is the newest female hiplife and R&B music star whose presence on the scene will create panic among artistes such as Mzbel, K.K. Vidash, Abrewa Nana, Becca, Diamond and a host of other female artistes.
She is Vida Darko, better known in showbiz circles as Veeda. She was born in Ghana, and had part of her education in Ghana, and later traveled to the United States of America where she had her High School education at the Fairmont High School in Maryland and tertiary education at the University Of Maryland.
Now here we are with her debut Album Launch Party that you cannot afford to miss: ON AUGUST 16TH 2008 @ BEST WESTERN HOTEL 1590 Princess Garden Parkway Lanham, MD. 2070@ 9pm With an R&B twist to Ghanaian music, the young woman who has such charming looks that could rival those of international stars like Rihanna, Christiana Milan, Beyonce and a host others, has put together a multi-platinum album.
Her maiden album which has the Title ‘Destiny’ has a lot of danceable songs with good drum beats and choruses. She explained that it has a combining existence of Ghanaian heritage, global glamour and an absolute style. It combined hiplife, highlife and R&B music genres.. This she said is to give her music a global appeal. Indeed, interesting songs on the album include ‘Biribi Yaa yeme’, ‘Afifi Afifi’, ‘Ice Kenkey’, ‘Chechekule’, ‘Why’, ‘Please Forgive Me’, ‘Love Affair and ‘My African king’. She featured four artistes on the entire album. They are Baba Ashanti, Disastrous, Nickson and Red eye of 2Toff fame. She would be celebrating the album Launch party with other artist like Reggie Rockstone, Babashante, Red Eye, Papashee, Disastrous, and many more.
She is also using the opportunity to raise funds for her charity, which is the change charity; a charity that would cater for the foster kids in Ghana and Africa as a whole. Her vision is really broad and she is working so hard towards it.

EUCHARIA ANUNOBI ON TOUR
Star actress Eucharia Anunobi is currently on European tour. No, it’s not what you think. She’s not shooting a movie or anything close to that. She is visiting friends all over Europe as a treat to herself.

Gist was that she was spotted in Spain, the actress was on a shopping spree and left an un-named shopping outlet with more bags than she could carry. (we hope she’s not buying more body revealing cloth oh.) No, she was not spotted with her new lover boy, Gerald.

It’s good to know that she is happy and enjoying life, but if you ask me, I would suggest that she branches into Holland where her estranged hubby is hiding and fishes him out to tell him, “stop hiding, I have moved on.”

The actress is expected back in the country before the month of July 2008 runs out. Please, if you spot her, ask her on my behalf if she had a great time shopping. You can also ask her if she bought anymore shocking clothes to thrill us with.

BUSINESS REALITY SHOW:DRAGON'S DEN KICKS OFF LAST NIGHT ON TV...PLUS FACES OF THOSE WHO ARE READY TO STAKE THEIR MILLIONS FOR A GOOD BUSINESS IDEA

The premiere episode of Dragons’ Den Nigeria commenced on a very promising premise. The den had come alive as a Mecca where good business ideas meet great opportunities. The presenter, Nwaji Jibunoh captured the feeling that would permeate this episode in his introduction, “when the entrepreneurs come into the den, they can ask for as much money as they like but in order to convince the dragons to part with their hard-earned cash, they must be willing to answer some tough questions (and defend their business proposals)…also, the pitchers must get the exact amount they are asking for or they leave the den with nothing…”
From his picturesque prologue, Nwaji proceeded to introduce the dragons through an exciting montage; a beautifully captured show of business savvy and material opulence in yachts, luxury cars, and expansive offices; creating an appetite for success in the would-be entrepreneur. The dragons were doing big business, living the good life, and loving it!

Below is the profile of the panel of business people who are ready to stake their millions for a wonderful business idea. They form the panel.

John Momoh is a household name in the broadcast media industry in Nigeria and indeed the world; in his early 50s, John Momoh has more than 30 years experience in the media business…he rose from the humble ranks of radio and TV presenter, reporter, news anchor, and news editor for the Nigerian Television Authority - the biggest broadcast network in Africa to occupying an enviable position as the owner of Channels Television, a burgeoning broadcast media outfit respected terrestrially and internationally. He is well-travelled. His analyses of any proposed business provides aspiring entrepreneurs with an itinerary for attaining great heights in business. He reeks with the aura of a motivational speaker-challenging and inspiring any young mind by the virtue of his meteoric rise through the ladders of a highly politicized industry. John is a member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences based in New York, U.S.A and his Television station, was the first in Nigeria, to be nominated for an international recognition under UNICEF’s entry for the International Children's Day of Broadcasting.

Ibukun Awosika is a God-fearing business woman, whose calling has been to impact upon business persons the ethics of conducting business based on the word of God. Her motherly persona resonates in her analyses of the business ideas presented by aspiring entrepreneurs on the show. Ibukun Awosika is the current Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Women in Management and Business (WIMBIZ). And in the den, she believes that numbers must always add up in order to attract an investment.

AFTER GOD, IT WAS MOM-OBA GOAL

The remains of Alhaja Monsurat Martins has been committed to mother earth.Sympathizers trooped in to pay their last respect to Alhaja Monsurat Martins, who passed on last Thursday at the age of 62.
Overwhelmed by compassion, the former Inter Milan, player 'Oba Goal' could not hold back tears as he cried all through when the remains of his mother was being buried at the Victoria Garden Cemetery (VGC) in Lekki, Lagos, in the presence of all her children.

Martins described his mother as a precious jewel, whose death came too sudden. He said he never expected that his mother would die now because she was sound and hearty.
Alhaja Monsurat Martins died in tragic circumstances in the early hours of Thursday morning while fleeing her Lagos apartment after a petrol tanker burst into flames near the popular Orile Iganmu Bus Stop where her home is situated.

Condolence messages had continued to troop in like torrents both from home and abroad since Alhaja’s demise on Thursday morning. Apart from his friends in Europe, football pundits across the country had continued to pay their last respect to Martins’ mother even before she was lowered to the grave last Friday.

Meanwhile, Martins former club, Inter Milan, had sent their condolence to their former striker, asking him to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.

The 23-year-old scored 28 goals in 88 appearances for the Nerazzurri between 2002 and 2006, before his €15million move to Newcastle.

REV. OKOTIE ADOPTS AY, THE COMEDIAN

Dandy man of God and the head pastor of the Household of God Church, Rev. Kris Okotie did two unique things on the occasion of his recently held 50th birthday celebrations. First, was the ‘unveiling’ and introduction of his would be pretty wife, Stephanie, a divorcee mother of three to church members and invited quests. As if that was not enough, the preacher turned politician went ahead to declare on the pulpit that he had adopted fast rising comedian Ayo Makun, famously known as AY, as his first son. The public announcement further elicited huge applause from those present at the occasion. However, our concern is that more than a month after the declaration, the cerebral comedian and compere, whose AY show, has been rated one of the best watched on TV, is yet to change his surname to reflect his new status. Meanwhile, some hoodlums recently burgled his wife’s car and left it thoroughly vandalized.

By Niyi Tabiti

Last night (Friday 25 July 2008) , Nigeria’s international music act, Dapo Oyebanjo popularly known as D’Banj proved that he is still the master when it comes to stage performance in the country( His moves on stage remind you of the late Afro beat musician, The late Fela Anikulapo Kuti). Top Nigerian politicians, youth leaders, showbiz personalities and lovers of good music thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the album launch of his latest album entitled “The Entertainer”

The event was also used as an avenue to promote the values of his charitable organization known as Koko Foundation. The list of celebrities is endless. .
Friday’s event was for VIP. The show continued yesterday at the same venue.

Dbanj in Fela Anikulapo Kuti style! Those who had the opportunity of watching 'Abami Eda' as Fela was fondly called would tell you this guy is indeed the future!

Chris Brown's Dance Reality TV Show
Chris Brown
is set to enter the reality TV industry by launching his own dance competition series. The Kiss Kiss hitmaker frequently shows off his fancy footwork in his music videos and live performances, and now he is to give wannabe dancers a chance to strut their stuff on his forthcoming show.

The currently untitled project, which will focus on hip-hop and street dance culture, will see contestants go up against one another in a variety of dance-offs, with Brown choosing the winner of each round. Speaking of the programme, Brown says, “Dancing is more than just a way of moving, it’s a different expression of music. That’s what I want to focus on with this show.”

9ICE SHUNS HONEYMOON

Newly married Abolore Akande a.k.a 9ice, has decided it is not yet time to frolick but to chase the cash.
Many a newly-wed musicians would have stepped down all activities including performing at shows to honeymoon with their spouses but 9ice is boosting his pocket instead.
The Gongo Aso chap left for London on Tuesday night aboad Virgin Nigeria to perform at a show last night (Friday) in London.

The show, according to his media minder, Ayeni Adekunye, was packaged by Black Night, a popular outfit.
“His honeymoon will have to wait, that is if he will go on it at all,” Adekunle told Entertainment Extra.
Last week, some music lovers in Nigeria were hit by the surprising news that Abolore Adigun Akande, popularly known as 9ice, had got married to his hearthrob, Tony Payne. Not a few of his fans, who had expected a highly publicized society wedding, were shocked beyond description.

However, it appears that 9nice, who was recently named the new face of the popular Osun/Osogbo festival, had his reasons for making it a hush–hush affair.

D'BANJ SUNGLASSES SNATCHED

Wave making musician, D’banj, is one of the hottest musicians in the country today. The crooner seems to have a lot of fans and followers who would give an arm and, even, two legs to touch him.
Everywhere he goes, it seems as if the Koko master is always drawing attention. And indeed, the crooner drew more than enough attention in Lagos recently during a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Riwan Akiolu To formally seek the blessings ofthe Royal father.

As D’banj was leaving the palace, fans were already waiting for him. They didn’t give him a breather at all.
Probably to identify with them and to appreciate their love, D’banj stood in his chauffeur driven jeep and brought out his head from the open roof car.

The crowd almost ate him raw, but the crooner didn’t seem to mind as he started distributing his CDs to the over excited crowd.
But even as some people wanted to get a copy of the CD, more of them wanted to help themselves to the expensive accessories the crooner adorned himself with.

The crowd intensified, D’banj kept sharing his Cds. It was not up until his expensive designer sunglasses was snatched off his face that the crooner stopped being ‘Father Chritmas.’

“Wey my glasses? They have taken my glasses!” Was all he could say as one of the passengers of the jeep quickly pulled him down and they zoomed off.

TU-FACE NOW A CHEF

ok, well sure i was almost laughing to the point of being choked when i heard this but then...
Nigeria's finest and one of Africa's best Innocent (tuface/Tu-baba) Idibia has said that he' is discovering his latest passion in cuisines. the "if love is a crime" exponent says music no longer serves his passion like it used, hence, his skills in cooking is being horned and its just a matter of time when he will be out with his 'line' of cuisines(shouldn't that have been 'Recipe', cos its not like a cloth line???). Anyway, he made the revelation on E.W. ( a silver bird television weekly entertainment show).
Well before you read any further, know that his first line of cuisine will be bean and friend fish...yeah...thats what the brother said, which ever way, yours sincerely, Code Master wish Tu-Baba all the best in his new found passion
